mira como tu me tienes

June 29th, 2010

Hold Yuh is up there. I’m talking top five tracks of the year, and staking a firm case for a place amongst the all time greatest. In my personal opinion that is. But the sleepy, seductive melody was confined to my iTunes until this Latin remix from Oakland-based duo Panameño Los Rakas [above] came to my attention. At first when I looked it up I stumbled on Supanova’s inferior effort but soon I came across what I was looking for. The beauty of Gyptian’s original [below] is it’s simplicity, so rather than muddy the water with superfluous glorification, I’d rather let la musica do the talking. Los Rakas above. Gyptian’s original below. Que Los disfruten…

HATER!!!! Why are you hating on your own people? Do you even know anything about dancehall you idiot? Riddims are meant to have lots of artists on it. That’s a traditional thing. If Latino artists were inspired to do a remix, then don’t hate on them! Thank God no one cares what you think. I typed “dancehall” and for some reason your corny insignificant blog came up. Well done Rakas and Supanova ! Both Latin remixes are hot. The only inferior attempt is this weak ass blog post. Keep being insignificant. By the way, Gyptian is one of the MANY artists that jumped on this riddim…Gyptian is not even one of the top artists in Jamaica right now….HATER !!!!

Thank you for having the time an inclination to leave a comment on my corny insignificant blog. It amazes me that you chose such profoundly stupid accusations as “hater” and “idiot” as your line of fire. And then proceeded to do nothing but hate and make yourself sound like an idiot. Thank you for informing me that the whole idea behind riddims is that multiple artists record over them. Yes I did know that already though, sorry. And I also know and have recordings of at least 20 artists over Hold Yuh. I’m sorry too that you totally misinterpreted my praise of Los Rakas’ remix. To say Supanova’s effort is inferior is not hating on Latinos, but voicing an opinion – one which I maintain. And that, my friend, is the point of a blog. If you don’t like my opinion then either jog on or reply, and we can discuss this further. Alternatively you can go back to typing generic musical genres into Google and see where that gets you. Probably about as far as choosing an email address like aaaol.com@aol.com. Well done. Good luck to you. Hater
